Job Description:

Provides engineering support by developing and maintaining software applications which enhance the efficiency of the office.

Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Will work as a team member within the Process and Technology Group
  • Become familiar with the Engineering Process, Methods, and Tools (PMT)
  • Problem solve inefficiencies within current PMT's and provide automated solutions within a team environment
  • Developing automated processes using programming languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic (.net, Visual Studio, etc.) and CATIA VBA. Output files will be compiled Microsoft VB .exe files, .CATSript files, or .CATVBA scripts.
  • Trouble-shoot existing applications and repair any issues.
  • Enhance existing applications with more robust solutions.
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD), specifically CATIA V5 is a plus
  • Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and work in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively estimate, schedule and prioritize work flow
  • Knowledge of or ability to interpret company and commercial specifications relating to software documentation
  • Job tasks will be assigned by a Design Technology EGL or a Knowledge Application Lead.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform tests of new toolsets, software updates, etc. on a "as-needed" basis
  • Interact with internal and external customers. Assist the customer in defining requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems.
  • Create and/or edit written user guides for various applications
  • Develop and sometimes present materials for project related briefings which can include internal and external customers.
Preferred Skills:

Education and/or Experience:

Preferred BS in Information Systems with 5-10 years experience

Experience in the following:

  • VB or C# Development, minimum 5 years
  • .NET Framework 3.5
  • Structured Query Language proficiency

Desired Capabilities:

  • CATIA API Knowledge
  • C++ experience
  • Multi-site deployment schemes (Service Oriented Architecture, WebApps, replication, etc.)
  • International/Multicultural experience
  • Professional communication skills focused on customer service and support of the engineering community are a must.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Previous experience in aircraft automation support is desired.
